Concept ｜design

The traditional British fisherman's cable sweater (or guernsey sweater) originated in the 17th century on the British island of Guernsey. It was primarily worn by fishermen on the island, then spread to coastal areas of England, becoming the historically famous British fisherman's sweater.

structure ｜silhouette

The cable knit pattern remains on the outside of the cuffs, giving the sweater visual richness and three-dimensionality. The upper body is thick, fluffy and warm to wear. The overall cut has a subtly loose silhouette, and retains the characteristic elements of British fisherman sweaters such as a semi-turtleneck, a freely rolled hem, and ribbed cuffs.

rhetoric ｜detail

The horse design on the front is done using traditional thick hand embroidery techniques, which are characterised by the time consuming nature of this handcrafted work and the three-dimensional texture of the embroidery.

Subject｜material

Inspired by early British fisherman sweaters, this sweater is made from 100% wool with a variety of chunky knit combinations, and the grey and brown color combination injects a retro element into the sweater.
