These high-waisted shorts are inspired by Italian naval shorts from the late 50s and early 60s, and also borrow elements from the British WWII gharki shorts, originally designed to adapt to the hot climates of India, to cope with extreme weather conditions and make it easier for soldiers to function during combat.
